In summer there are weddings nearly every Saturday afternoon so please prepare to wait a while or call us in advance to check the schedule.
On summer Sundays there's a service in the Old Church usually at 10 am. The timetables of the services can be checked from the parish website. Service is free for everyone to attend. However, please remember to respect the church and parishioners by appropriate clothing.
The Foundation for the Petäjävesi Old Church celebrated the 250-years anniversary of the church in 2014! Old Church has also been included in the World Heritage List for 20 years in 2014.

There are two dry toilets near the Old Church. One of them is accessible by wheelchair.
Petäjävesi Old Church is not entirely accessible. In a very old wooden building the floors are not straight and smooth and the thesholds are really high. Also the stairs are quite steep. There is a ramp for wheelchairs in one of the entrances. The ramp is quite steep so it is recommended to have an assistant.
