Petäjävesi offers great facilities for active sport both in the village centre and in the tranquility of nature.
The illuminated turf football field has served inhabitants and visitors of Petäjävesi since 2009. Two tennis courts are located near the football field.
The gym is equipped for active sportsmen and for beginners as well.
Cross-country skiing tracks are located in Kettulanvuori outdoor recreation area. Illuminated skiing track is 4,5 km long, and the tracks for both traditional and skating style are varied by length, for example 20-38 kilometers long ”Reppulenkki” skiing track.
A 20-hole disc golf course is situated in Kettulanvuori on skiing track area. The baskets are situated in forested and hilly landscape which offers appropriately challenges for players. Beach volleyball sand courts are situated in the boat dock at Rukoilantie at Kirveslahti and on the beach at Pihlajaniementie at Kintaus.
Swimming beaches
The beach of the village of Petäjävesi is located at the end of Matkailutie. Another beach is located at Kintaus village at Pihlajaniemi. There are changing rooms and WC/latrines on both beaches. A lakeside sauna on the beach of the village can be reserved for 30 € ( 3 hours), reservations from the library, tel. +358 14 2673 105.
There is a possibility to ice swimming on the village beach. The season ticket for the ice swimming, 44 €, and the refundable key charge of 5 € can be payed at K-market Porkkana (Asematie 6).
