Wanha Witonen Canoeing Route
The Wanha Witonen Canoeing Route starts from Petäjävesi, passing the Old Church of Petäjävesi, and flows through the village of Koskenpää, Jämsänkoski and the city of Jämsä, and ends up on Lake Päijänne at Arvaja in Jämsä. The total length of the route is 75 kilometers but there are plenty of shorter sections on the route as well. Small lakes, rivers and rapids vary during the scenic route along which wilderness and the scenes of cultural heritage alternate in harmony.
The route soutes for experienced paddlers as well as for beginners of all ages. There are many resting places along the route which can be easily found.
